On November 12, 2019, on the establishment conference of cultural relic protection and innovation research institute of Fudan University, with the witness of 300+ experts and scholars in archives and cultural protection field from all over the world, an opening ceremony was held to celebrate the set up of a joint practice base founded by Reli Heritage Preservation and Conservation Institute of ancient Chinese books /Institute of cultural relic protection and innovation in Fudan university.

Conservation Institute of ancient Chinese books in Fudan University is an interdisciplinary platform established under director of National Center for Preservation and Conservation of Ancient Books. It joins scientific forces from Library of Fudan University, Department of polymer science, Chemistry Department, Department of Life Sciences, and Department of Antiquities and Museums. The establishment of the Institute aims to cultivate high-end talents for the protection of ancient books, to preserve ancient Chinese books , manage ancient book resources and spread Chinese culture, to build up an ancient books protection disciplinary system with Chinese characteristics, and to found a national cultural resources information platform. Thus, promote cultural soft power of the nation.

The cooperation between Reli Heritage Preservation and the frontier discipline platform of Chinese outstanding university stems from identical sense of mission and developed on mutual appreciation of each other.
